Remembering (via | view large on black)
Memorial Day usually marks the beginning of summer for most of us, even if it’s in an unofficial capacity.  For me, summer means seeing live music, camping, enjoying the outdoors - all things we often take for granted as Americans.  We owe such wonderful freedoms and past times to those that have given their lives to allow us to continue to live in ways that much of the rest of the world cannot.
I know when I venture across the country to see live music this summer, I’m going to try and capture the experience for what it is: completely American and unique.  This photo was taken last July 3, at the Rothbury Music Festival in Rothbury, Michigan. I can’t think of a better way to spend an American holiday than camping, grilling, dancing, and watching fireworks.  So I urge all of you to do as much of the aforementioned activities as possible.  They’ll keep you smiling and keep you remembering why we live in such an amazing place in some (for better or worse) amazing times.
