One of my clients, Bin Donated, was featured on ABC 7 Chicago this evening.  It coincides with a revamped layout we launched, and is the pre-cursor to some more revenue-generating features we’re going to be rolling out.

Bin Donated places barrels in residential and commercial buildings across Chicago, allowing people to pass along old books and clothing, food, and hygiene products with minimal effort. Homeless Chicago school students and a variety of other groups in need are the end recipients.

In addition, Bin Donated’s founder Jud puts on a lot of fun nightlife events with all ticket proceeds going to the organization. I’ll post details on next month’s event when it’s announced, but in the mean time, check out the new site and if you’re feeling generous, make a secure donation on the site!

Our Newest Site: Bin Donated
Bin Donated is a new Chicago charitable organization whose goal is to create awareness around poverty, homelessness, and general problems in the city of Chicago. The organization is just launching, but hopes to have barrels in thousands of businesses and high rise buildings in Chicago within weeks to collect soaps, canned goods, clothing, etc.
I’m particularly proud of this site because it’s the first fully functional Drupal eCommerce site that I’ve built (and partially designed) by myself, and it features some of my Chicago photography as well. In the future we’re going to be integrating a lot of functionality that connects buildings, individuals, and sponsors.
If you’re interested in learning more or volunteering, check out the site. The launch party will be Wednesday, November 18, at Flatwater Grill.  Tickets are $30 through the site, and $40 the day of. We’re expecting a couple hundred people in attednance, and everyone will be served vodka, rum and beer.  Additionally, if you decide to come, please bring your travel size shampoo, conditioner, lotion and bar soap to donate to one of the barrels.
If you’re in Chicago, definitely take a look. I think Bin Donated is going to make a big difference this winter and beyond.
