Who Are The Jonas Brothers?

And why the hell are they at the White House today (per CNN ticker)?  Are they really brothers?  Are they musicians or the next big boy band? I doubt the answers to any of these questions will really mean anything to me, as it’s probably pure garbage I’d never want to be subjected to anyhow.

But I must admit, sometimes I feel completely out of touch with whatever is “popular.”  In my life, big music news amounts to David Byrne & Brian Eno releasing a new album (via the internets).  These Jonas fellas… not the slightest clue, and somehow I think it’s best that way.

David Byrne & Brian Eno - Strange Overtones

It’s been so long and I know most of the world must be holding it’s breath, I know I am…

“Brian Eno and I recently finished our first collaboration in about 30 years. For the most part, Brian did the music and I wrote some tunes, words and sang. It’s familiar but completely new as well. We’re pretty excited. In August the music will be available via this Web site, free for streaming and available for purchase in a variety of options that allow you to download immediately and receive physical formats when they become available later in the Fall. One of the songs will be available free of charge.”  from Everything That Happens

Best music news in some time.  These guys make magic together… a strange, unsettling brew of magic.
