SECOND CITY/WILCO PROPOSAL
I die. I got misty.
also: WAS THE REDHEAD MENTIONED MISS BILLS? I see her in the background. I bet it was. <3
via: adventures in solitude

i spent a few hours at second city’s annual 24 hour improv marathon, letters to santa. it’s a charity event, with proceeds going to needy families. we watched several hours of improv, which was mostly really great. tj jagadowski, i’d forgotten how fucking awesome you are. i also fell in love with a red-headed improviser who played the entire 24 hours and was tack sharp from beginning to end, even with no sleep.
…at the end of the marathon, jeff tweedy played a few songs.
it was actually a song auction—if you are the highest bidder, you choose a song and jeff tweedy comes over to where you’re sitting and sings that song for you and you alone. well, you know. for everyone, really, but you get to gaze into his eyes and all.
in the middle of it, a guy probably in his mid-twenties or so bids a whopping $500 for a song and wins, of course. he asks jeff to sing the song to his girlfriend, and then quickly spills the beans that he doesn’t actually have the money to pay, but the aforementioned tj jagadowski gave it to him so that he could do this. he tells us that he doesn’t have the money because he has spent it all on an engagement ring. the crowd goes wild, he proposes, she says yes, jeff tweedy plays “true love will find you in the end”, and everyone cries. GOOD JOB, DUDE.

This is awesome for about a million reasons.

How fucking baller is that?  Tweedy + Second City for the marriage win!
