Jenny Lewis - “Acid Tongue”

I’m not sure when I fell in love with Jenny exactly, but I am proof positive that all blame falls on that beautiful voice of her’s. Sure, her stunning natural beauty and long red hair certainly don’t hurt, but whether it’s with Rilo Kiley, The Watson Twins, or M. Ward (She & Him), Jenny’s voice is always what does it for me.
Acid Tongue is her (yet to be released) newest solo album, and is an excellent effort with some very catchy, yet bluesy guitar riffs, and guest appearances from M. Ward, Elvis Costello, and Chris Robinson. This is the title track, but there are some other gems on this album. If you’re in Chicago, try and catch her tomorrow (Epiphany Church, 201 S. Ashland, 8 PM). I’m not sure if I can make it, but I’m pretty sure I’ll be in love with her still regardless.
