I lived next door to NIck’s for an entire year. I’m now feeling way too nostalgic thinking about a Friday afternoon and evening back in B-Town. It’s truly one of the best places I’ve ever had the pleasure of visiting, let alone living in for five years. But for the record, Sink The Biz should only ever be played within the confines of Nick’s English Hut. Kirkwood is a sorry pretender.

There is no difference between Indiana and Ohio.

Together, this crew has lived at the epicenter of Bloomington from 2000-2009. We’ve had some amazing times over the years., but this weekend is likely the last we all share living in this apartment.

I wrote about good old Samsy pants for the Mag today.

I think you summed up the situation pretty well.  Ultimately the buck stops with the coach, and winning and losing are secondary to the responsibilities of running a transparent and reputable program.  IU fans learned a tough, but valuable lesson that was perhaps lost in sight of the desire to get as many wins as possible.

Ah, it’s Tuesday.  Which means $2 cheeseburgers and chips, downed with mini-pitchers of Upland or Blue Moon.  I miss living on Kirkwood.

I took this back in April, but it’s become my favorite photo of Barack.  There are far better ones out there, but I’ve felt in my gut ever since that night that he would win Indiana in route to the presidency.  Just look at the happiness and hope on the faces of everyone, Barack included.
I still can’t get over how profoundly amazing Tuesday was.  I almost feel like I’m still hung over from the celebration in a way, but I want to get involved and play a role in carrying out his goals because this campaign wasn’t only about getting him elected.  It was about each of us contributing to making this country a better place.

QUOTE
One of our two senators is a Democrat; for 16 of the last 20 years we’ve had a Democrat governor, Democrats have five of our nine congressional seats; the Indiana House is Democratic. Indiana always looks very red to outsiders, but it’s a lot closer than more people realize.

Michael Davis, Indianapolis-based pollster.  “Surprise: Indiana Is Midwest hot spot”

Like the pollster, I tend to believe Indiana will still end up in the McCain column.  But I did my part by going back to Indiana to vote last week, and my entire family is voting blue, a first for Presidential elections.

election08:

Ben Smith at Politico.com is reporting that the Republican National Committee is starting to spend money in Indiana. Obama has been aggressively pursuing Indiana, a state that hasn’t gone blue since 1964. And McCain and GOP haven’t even set up an office. Apparently, their internal polling must be telling them something they don’t like.

While Obama may have pulled out of North Dakota, he’s pressuring the GOP to spend money in a state they shouldn’t worry about. Because, if Obama wins Indiana, he’s already won the election.

I live in Illinois now, but I’m still a registered Indiana voter, and will be voting Obama in Indiana come November 4.

HOOSIERS FOR OBAMA
